I’m on the road. On the sky. On the move.
Sitting here in the Dublin airport, I can’t believe it’s only been five days since I left Missoula.
I flew into Detroit, where I met up with some buddies and then we drove to Boyne Falls for dear friends’ wedding. We all stayed in cabins on he make and swam everyday, stand up paddle boarded, water skied, tubed… so. much. fun.
Bu the most lovely thing [maybe ever] was Dan and Anna’s wedding. I officiated it and my heart is still buzzing from the fact that I got to be a part of such a wonderful union between two amazing friends. Anna cried. Dan cried. I cried. We fumbled through many parts, just like the journey of loving someone, and that’s what made it perfect… because there was love.
Then it was back to Detroit and then to Chicago!
I got into Chicago in the throws of Gay Pride. I never knew that dancing to “The Boy is Mine” remixed with a dancer floor filled with strangers [and two friends] in Boystown in Chicago was on a random bucket list of mine… but it was… and now it’s checked off.
Then I explored all over Chicago yesterday with my lovely friend/tour guide, Andy. Chi town is pretty awesome, y’all.
And now today. Dublin. The first time I’ve been to Europe. The continent my feet have been dying to touch for so long. I only spent about seven hours here, but the whole time it was pretty magical. This city is gorgeous!
The brick roads, the flower stands on every corner, the bridges, he cathedrals, the gardens, the street musicians playing all my favorite songs, the pubs, the cafés… everything.
I wandered and discovered. It’s a feeling I crave and don’t have often enough.
And now tonight I’ll be in Italy! I cannot wait… to sleep… and then discover Italy with my best friend.
[p.s. does anyone have some photos of Danna’s ceremony? I was in no position to take any and I would LOVE some!]
